September, Stil Life
September is my month. It is the month of my birthday, and this year it arrived with a bouquet of flowers from my son's girlfriend, a young woman with a very good eye for colour.
Flowers like these deserve more than a vase on the kitchen table. So I paired them with figs, the fruit that closes the Italian summer and one I love so much that I have photographed it before, in another still life. Some loves you simply keep returning to.
I named it 'Settembre' because it holds everything this month means to me: a birthday, family, the last warmth of summer and the slow turn towards autumn.
