Still life with Pomegranate
"Mamma, did you cut yourself?"
No matter how many times I try, peeling a pomegranate without staining my hands deep red remains impossible. The juice seeps into my fingers, like paint on a brush—messy, but somehow part of the ritual.
I once tried using cutlery, but it wasn’t the same. There’s something about breaking it open by hand, feeling the fruit give way, that makes it more intimate.
This image captures that moment—the beauty in the imperfection, the richness of the color, the quiet chaos of something so simple yet so full of life.
