Tomoko’s Wisteria
Tomoko, a dear Japanese friend of mine, has a garden adorned with wisteria that blooms magnificently in the springtime. In contrast, my own garden lacks such lushness.
One spring day, inspired by the sight of Tomoko's flourishing wisteria, I couldn't help but inquire, 'Can I have some of yours? I'll make it mine.' She graciously agreed, and I set out to recreate a piece of her garden.
For this artwork, I combined the wisteria with Japanese pear and melon, choosing them for their yellow hues that complement the wisteria's purple. I named it 'Tomoko's Wisteria' as a tribute to her colorful personality and vibrant wardrobe.
This piece celebrates the bond between friends and the beauty of nature's bounty, weaving together memories of friendship and the joy of spring blooms.
